For decades, Country Blue lived under an autocratic government characterized by endemic corruption, silenced dissent, and widespread poverty. After several failed peaceful pleas for government reform, an armed rebel movement planned a coup. The government responded within discriminate brutality, imposing martial law on the country and detaining anyone perceived as sympathetic to the rebel movement. Several high-profile government officials fled Blue in protest, but many lower level officials remained in their position for fear of reprisal for appearing sympathetic to the rebel movement….
