  • US Institute of Peace - Since 2015, the U.S. Institute of Peace has helped local leaders in Syria engage in outcome-oriented dialogues to promote peace in their communities. USIP has also helped civil society organizations, informed policymakers, worked to reduce refugee-host tensions in states near Syria, and cooperated with proponents of peace.

  • Carnegie Endowment for International Peace - The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. The Carnegie Endowment has published significant work on the situation in Syria.

  • Atlantic Council - The Atlantic Council’s work on Syria sheds light on the ongoing struggle of Syrians to fulfill their desire for democratic self-governance as the United States and the international community grapple with the aftermath of a devastating civil war, millions of refugees across the Middle East and Europe, and ongoing security and political challenges spilling over Syria’s borders.

  • Middle East Institute - The Middle East Institute is a non-partisan think tank providing expert policy analysis, educational and professional development services, and a hub for engaging with the region's arts and culture. The Middle East Institute has published significant work on the situation in Syria.

  • Council on Foreign Relations - The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries. CFR has published significant work on the situation in Syria.

  • International Crisis Group - The International Crisis Group conducts independent research and analysis on conflicts around the world. Crisis Group pursues a comprehensive approach for achieving a sustainable decline in violence and, ultimately, a political settlement in Syria. They also seek to correct dominant narratives that focus on jihadism and migrant flows, which are the symptoms, rather than the causes, of the Syrian problem.
