Implementing the 2002 Ceasefire Agreement in Sri Lanka
In February 2006, after three years without face-to-face negotiations and in an effort to stop the escalating violence, the GOSL and LTTE met in Geneva to resume peace talks, which were mediated by Norway. These talks will recommence April 19, 2006, with specific focus on the implementation and maintenance of the 2002 ceasefire agreement. This negotiation simulation seeks to build on these recent successes. It is designed to identify key issues and potential solutions to points of impasse that are likely to arise during this and future rounds of negotiations.
